The vision is to become an Institution of excellence in cross border mobility of faculty and students and promotion of translational research.
The mission is to continuously explore and enhance academic collaboration with universities abroad for cross border mobility of students and faculty of PSG Institutions and promote innovative research and technology business incubation.
PSG Institute of Advanced Studies conducts educational courses in partnership with Universities abroad under credit transfer scheme. Students complete a part of study at PSG where the courses are taught by the PSG Tech faculty with the latest facilities available at PSG College of Technology and the students go abroad to complete the study there and get an international degree awarded by the foreign University concerned. By this process the expenses incurred by the students come down considerably, yet students can get an international exposure and international degree.
The students study the same syllabus as in vogue at PSG College of Technology (an autonomous institution affiliated to Anna University) for 3 years in Mechanical Engineering and complete the balance 1year at Hull University.

AT THE CUTTING EDGE OF RESEARCH

Eligibility
For Admission to PSG:
More than 70% marks in +2 board examination
For transfer to Aboard Universities (USA, UK, and Australia):
TOEFL score more than 80 (out of 120) or IELTS overall score more than 6 and not less than 5.5 in any individual modules. The examinations results should be available 6 months before going to the abroad university. The students should also clear all technical subjects with more than an average of 70 % marks.
DURATION:
3 years at PSG and 1 year at University of Hull – Mechanical Engineering
2years at PSG and 1 year at University of Hull – International Business
About the program
BE in Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical engineers are involved in the design and development of almost everything we use - from nanotechnology to healthcare equipment to planes, wind farms and even spacecraft. The skills you will learn are highly sought after by employers. By studying mechanical engineering you can look forward to good job prospects and a varied and fulfilling career. BEng Degree in Mechanical is accredited by the IMechE.
This is a four year degree program with international exposure. In the first 3 years of study, students will do their courses at PSG, the academic curriculum being the same as that of Anna University courses offered by PSG. The credits earned in the first 3 years at PSG will be transferred to the University of Hull.
- Many of our students take the opportunity to spend a year in industry as part of their degree, gaining valuable experience and contacts which will help them in their careers. You could be working for some of the biggest employers in the country. Companies such as Reckitt, Airbus, Virgin Media, IBM, BMW Group, Siemens, Microsoft and Smith & Nephew.
- B Eng Degree in Mechanical or Mechanical + Automobile or Mechanical + Manufacturing Engineering (Accredited by the IMechE and IET, UK) will be awarded by the University of Hull. Those with good academic records can continue for M.Sc., in the relevant field
